See, everything that we've ever been taught whether that be from parents, loved ones, peers - on how to manage your thoughts, emotions, language, health, vitality - everything we've been taught about avoiding self-sabotage - Doesn't work on a sustainable level.
How easy is it to retain good practices that we KNOW are the things we need to be doing, in times of stress? Often, when we need them most, they are the hardest things to do. When we reach a crisis point, we KNOW that what we should be doing things that are conducive to making us feel better, whether it be exercising, eating better, you name it, but its the last thing we do when times are tough... So it doesn't work!
It’s in those moments, we frequently revert back to type. Let me explain…
.Maybe in the past, you have suffered from anxiety. Or periods of time where you have experienced high levels of stress, or anger or frustration. This could have caused mental blocks, procrastination, sleep regression or unhealthy eating patterns. And over time, you have introduced some positive habits into your life to help keep these under control.
But here’s the thing:
If we don’t deal with the underlying patterns of behaviour and inappropriate templates that we still hold onto, when we are placed under stress again, all those negative behaviours and limiting beliefs come back up to the surface to derail us.
And this is where my zone of genius lies. I can help change the way people think and the way they feel. It is this deeper-level work that makes what I do sustainable.
